OTTAWA -- The Philadelphia Flyers say they are aware of stories out of Ottawa "surrounding" Claude Giroux, who was reportedly arrested Tuesday night for allegedly grabbing the buttocks of a male police officer. When asked if Giroux was still in custody, a police spokesman said he "is no longer here." Police say they dont expect charges to be laid. The Ottawa Police said in a separate press release that seven arrests were made in connection to Canada Day festivities and that all but one were for "non-criminal matters." Pat Brisson, Girouxs agent, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment. Giroux, a native of Hearst, Ont., who lives in the Ottawa area, was a finalist for the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP this past season.
