Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hailed his sides outstanding performance against Stoke following their 4-1 win at Anfield on Sunday. Goals from Alberto Moreno, Daniel Sturridge and two from Divock Origi secured Liverpools victory after Klopp had made seven changes from the side that played Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night in the Europa League.Im really proud of the lads because its really difficult when a manager makes a few changes and you have no time to train together, have no rhythm and then you play like this. It was really outstanding, Klopp told Sky Sports. Liverpools Divock Origi celebrates scoring his sides third goal of the game However, Klopp was unhappy with Bojan Krkics goal which levelled the game for Stoke in the first half, believing that Martin Skrtel was fouled in the build-up, but was otherwise delighted with the nature of his sides victory. We watched the goal at half-time, I think its a foul on Martin Skrtel, said Klopp. Its not a block it was more and in the end Bojan is completely free. But things like this can happen, especially with the wind in the first half. You saw what Stoke did, they tried to use the wind with a lot of long balls to Peter Crouch but we did well and [scored] beautiful goals to be honest. Alberto Moreno is tackled by Xherdan Shaqiri It was really good, everything was perfect today.Klopp also reserved special praise for striker Sturridge, who was dropped to the bench in midweek but returned to the starting line-up with a goal against the Potters.Daniel was brilliant, said Klopp. [It was a] brilliant performance and he worked really hard [and scored a] wonderful goal. Utley extended his hot start with the tiebreaking homer among three hits, sparking the Philadelphia Phillies to a 4-3 victory over the Miami Marlins on Sunday for a three-game sweep. Utley raised his average to .500 through 10 games, with six doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs. The five-time All-Star, who missed two games with the flu, has a hit in each of his games this season. Knee issues the last few seasons knocked Utley off an All-Star pace, but hes playing now as if those problems are behind him. "I just see him in really good shape, moving really well on the field defensively and running the bases," Philadelphia manager Ryne Sandberg said. "Hes staying so active on the bases. Maybe that shows how well hes feeling. Thats (knee problems) a non-issue and hes having quality at-bats and seeing the ball well. Hes just in a real good zone. Even his outs are hard." Utley, notorious for keeping things close to the vest, said hes feeling no better or worse physically. "Ive had some decent days, feel OK," he said. "I feel fine, like I normally do." Will Nieves had three hits and two RBIs for Philadelphia, which has won 13 of its last 16 games against Miami. Garrett Jones homered and Casey McGehee had two hits and an RBI for the Marlins, who lost their seventh straight. The Marlins return home to face the Nationals on Monday after getting swept on the six-game road trip through Washington and Philadelphia. "Everyone has to take ownership for this trip," Miami manager Mike Redmond said. "Weve got to get better. There are areas we have to improve on, but were still battling. Nobodys going to give up." Utley broke a 3-all tie with two outs in the eighth by driving a 1-0 offering from Mike Dunn (0-1) into the seats in right-centre. "Just finding some holes," Utley said. "Not trying to do too much. Trying to put the ball in play and right now theyre falling." A.J. Bastardo (1-1) pitched a scoreless eighth for the win. Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save in four chances. Kyle Kendrick has a sparkling career record against the Marlins, going 12-2 with a 3.48 ERA in 21 career games coming in. In his last 11, he was 9-0 with a 2.21 ERA. But he did not factor into the decision Sunday after giving up three runs -- two earned -- on six hits in six innings. His counterpart, Henderson Alvarez, yielded tthree runs and 12 hits in six innings.dddddddddddd The Marlins took advantage of first baseman Ryan Howards fielding error to get a run in the first on McGehees RBI single and tacked on a run on in the second on Christian Yelichs run-scoring single. Jones launched his first homer of the season to deep right with one out in the fifth to give Miami a 3-1 lead. Philadelphia tied it in the bottom half on Nieves two-out, two-run double to right. The Phillies requested an out call at home plate be reviewed in the seventh inning. Tony Gwynn Jr. was called out trying to score from first on Utleys double to left. But Sandberg asked for the play to be reviewed because he thought catcher Jeff Mathis was blocking the plate with his left leg prior to Gwynns slide. Under the expanded replay format, umpires initiate a review of the new rule covering collisions at home plate. After a 54-second delay the out call by homeplate umpire Mark Ripperger was upheld. Sandberg, though, believes there needs to be clarification to the rule. "I thought the catcher did not give the base runner a lane," he said. "I saw the replay and I still say the leg was blocking it, so Gwynn didnt have a lane to home plate. I felt like Gwynn had to alter his slide because the plate was blocked, so theres some confusion there." Howard had just three hits in his last 17 at-bats before homering to the opposite field with one out in the third to tie it at 1. It was the second homer of the season for Howard. Gwynn started in centre field in place of Ben Revere for the third straight game and had three hits. Revere struck out swinging in the seventh as a pinch-hitter. DUBLIN, Ohio -- Jack Nicklaus welcomes the PGA Tour to his home course this week at Muirfield Village for the Memorial Tournament. Last year, Matt Kuchar closed with a 4-under 68 to beat Kevin Chappell by two strokes for his second win of the 2013 season and sixth of his career. Kuchar is having another strong season with nine top-10 finishes, including his seventh tour win at the Heritage. He finished second in Houston and shared fifth at the Masters. Brady is alleged to have used under-inflated balls before an NFL play-off game last year. The 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in New York reversed a federal judges ruling from September. The appeals court ruled that in imposing the suspension, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell properly exercised his discretion under a collective bargaining agreement. Bradys ban has been reinstated following an NFL investigation The split decision by a three-judge panel may end the legal debate over the scandal that led to months of football fans arguing over air pressure and the reputation of one of the leagues top teams. It is also likely to fuel a fresh round of debate over what role, if any, the quarterback and top NFL star played in using under-inflated footballs at the AFC Championship Game in January 2015. The Patriots won the contest over the Indianapolis Colts, 45-7, and then won the Super Bowl. Brady went on to win the Superbowl with the Patriots The appeals ruling follows a September decision by Manhattan Judge Richard Berman that went against the league, letting Brady skip the suspension.ddddddddddddThe three-judge panel sided 2-1 with the NFL, saying the leagues discipline was properly grounded in the collective bargaining agreement and Brady was treated fairly. Chief Judge Robert Katzmann dissented.I am troubled by the Commissioners decision to uphold the unprecedented four-game suspension, Katzmann said. The Commissioner failed to even consider a highly relevant alternative penalty. And the NFL Players Association released a statement which read: The NFLPA is disappointed in the decision by the second circuit. We fought Roger Goodells suspension of Tom Brady because we know he did not serve as a fair arbitrator and that players rights were violated under our collective bargaining agreement. Our union will carefully review the decision, consider all of our options, and continue to fight for players rights and for the integrity of the game. MONTREAL -- Mixed martial arts star Georges St-Pierre says the Ultimate Fighting Championships hesitant position when it came to stiffer drug testing greatly influenced his decision to take a break from the octagon. St-Pierre said Tuesday a lack of strenuous drug testing was one of the factors that led to his decision to step away from the sport. "It bothered me greatly, it was one of the reasons I decided to step aside," St-Pierre said Tuesday. He vacated his welterweight title and took a hiatus from the sport in December, citing a need to lead a normal life and deal with mental fatigue. The 32-year-old confirmed when asked by a reporter that his employer, the UFC, did not support him when he proposed drug testing in the weeks preceding his Nov. 16 fight against Johnny Hendricks. St-Pierre stepped away following UFC 167 where he won a controversial split decision over Hendricks. After that fight, he said he needed time away to sort out some personal issues. The star fighter was prudent in his comments Tuesday, being careful not to point fingers at any one person or fighter. He stressed he wasnt accusing anyone of steroid abuse. St-Pierre said he wanted to bring the sport he loves to "another level" of testing and help those who are honest in the sport. "I tried to change things, and unfortunately, maybe for money reasons, maybe for image, they were not ready to do that," St-Pierre said. "I tried to (bring about) change in a very diplomatic way and it didnt work so its unfortunate, but I believe it will happen sooner or later." The former welterweight champion said he hasnt made a decision to retire and added hes in top physical condition and still trains regularly. While he has remained vague about a comeback, St-Pierre says the break has made him a better fighter because hes not feeling any external pressure. He repeated he hasnt set any timetable to make a decision regarding his UFC future. St-Pierre said implementing drug testing is not a condition for any potential return to the sport. He added he could understand the reticence from the organization -- a failed drug test could dramatically change a card and result in people losing money. St-Pierre was in Montreal handing out bursaries for athletic excellence. "I feel very good, I feel very happy," St-Pierre said, appreciating a holiday season with his family and being able to have a few drinks. Andre Iguodala Jersey . Redick from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Los Angeles Clippers and point guard Eric Bledsoe from the Clippers to the Phoenix Suns. The deal also sends Jared Dudley from the Suns to the Clippers and Caron Butler from the Clippers to the Suns. The Bucks will get two second-round draft picks, according to the person who requested anonymity because the deal cant officially be made public until July 10 under NBA rules. Yahoo! Sports, which first reported the trade, said Redick gets a four-year, $27 million sign-and-trade contract as part of the exchange. In Redick, the Clippers get a much-needed shooting guard to play alongside Chris Paul, who has decided to re-sign with a team that has visions of contending for the Western Conference title. The Bucks acquired Redick from Orlando just before the February trade deadline, but decided not to re-sign him. Between the two teams, Redick averaged a career-best 14.1 points per game. He scored a career-high 31 points and made a career-best eight 3-pointers for Orlando against Detroit on Jan. 27. The former Duke star averaged 12.1 points with the Bucks. Bledsoe is the important piece for the Suns in the first trade engineered by new general manager Ryan McDonough. Pauls highly regarded backup played three seasons for Los Angeles after being drafted 18th overall out of Kentucky in the 2010 draft. Bledsoe averaged 8.5 points and 3.1 assists in 76 games for the Cliippers last season.dddddddddddd The Suns already have Goran Dragic and Kendall Marshall at point guard, then drafted another in 18-year-old Archie Goodwin from Kentucky with the 29th pick last week. Just what McDonough plans to do to relieve that logjam remains an open question because team officials are prohibited from talking about any moves until July 10. Dudley, a highly popular player with Phoenix who played small forward and shooting guard for the Suns, tweeted his approval of the trade. "I cant lie, Im excited to play close to home!!!" he wrote. "If I had to go to any team it would be the Clippers!! Time to get to work!!!" He also thanked the fans and the coaches, current and former team officials and Suns owner Robert Sarver. Dudley, in his fifth NBA season and third with the Suns, averaged a career-high 10.9 points in 2012-13, his first as a starter, but he was part of a team that posted the second-worst record in Suns history. With the drafting of 7-foot-1 Alex Len as the fifth pick overall and the acquisition of Bledsoe and Butler, McDonough -- formerly the assistant GM in Boston -- is making his first steps to shake up that unimpressive roster. The deal has the Suns taking on the contract of Butler, a two-time NBA all-star who has played 11 seasons in the league with five teams. His biggest success came in his time with the Washington Wizards. Butler averaged 10.4 points last season, the second of a three-year, $24 million contract he signed with the Clippers. Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has resigned following Italys 1-0 loss to Uruguay at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. CNN and Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Tancredi Palmeri broke the news via Twitter Tuesday afternoon. Italian Football Association President Giancarlo Abete has also resigned, according to Palmeri. Prandelli was unable to lead Italy into the knockout stage, as the team finished third in Group D with a 1-0-2 record. After defeating England 2-1 in the tournament opener, Italy suffered back-to-back 1-0 losses to Costa Rica and Uruguay. The now-56-year-old took over the Italian national team in 2010, replacing Marcello Lippi after Italy failed to advance past the group stage at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He guided Italy to the Euro 2012 Final in his only other major international tournament, though the Azzurri would lose 4-0 to Spain. It has showed the last two games. Jones scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Houston Rockets to their third straight victory, 109-85 over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. Jones, who tied his previous career high with 14 points Saturday against Denver, was 10 of 12 from the field as the Rockets shot 57 per cent as a team, including 72 per cent in the first half in building a 24-point halftime lead. "Im just trying to make the simple plays and trying to be there for cuts and offensive rebounds," said Jones, who has started the last four games. "Im just trying to do all the things to help us win." Patrick Beverley chipped in 16 points, James Harden added 15 points, five rebounds and five assists, and Dwight Howard had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons each had 11 points as the Rockets raced out to a 17-point, first-quarter lead and were never threatened. Houston also never trailed in its 122-111 victory over Denver and has not trailed since falling behind New York 61-60 with 7:41 remaining in the third quarter Thursday, a span of 112 minutes, 19 seconds. Houston coach Kevin McHale said he hoped his team was catching a rhythm. "I think the guys have done a really good job of being attentive and making corrections," McHale said. "Weve still got a long way to go, but were getting better all the time. Thats the encouraging thing. We have a lot of room for improvement still, but I can feel us starting to jell a little bit." Courtney Lee had 17 points, Avery Bradley added 11 and Jared Sullinger had 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench for Boston, which lost its fourth in a row. The Celtics shot 32 per cent. Boston coach Brad Stevens said he didnt have anything he was excited about from Tuesdays game. "I want to make sure we dont play like that again, so I never look at it as it was just one of those things because there is something behind when you dont play the way youre supposed to," Stevens said. "There are games where things just dont go your way, but were letting one end affect the other, and you dont do that against good teams." The Rockets jumped out to an 18-1 lead in thhe first 5 minutes, capped by a follow dunk by Jones, who had six in the game-opening run.dddddddddddd Beverley had five points in the stretch for Houston. Howard pointed to Houstons defence as the reason the Rockets ran out to the big lead. "Terrence and myself tried to do a better job of protecting the paint and forcing teams to only get one shot," Howard said. "Once we do that, our young guys can get out and run. They did a good job of that tonight, of getting out and running early. We set the tone. Thats what we have to do." Boston got its first point of the game on Jordan Crawfords free throw 45 seconds in after a Houston defensive 3-second call, but the Celtics missed their first nine shots and had three turnovers before Bradley hit a jumper with 6:46 left in the first to cut the lead to 18-3. "It was a slow start," Lee said. "We werent making shots, and were not executing our offence, and Houston got out and were running and were making easy layups, and everything they were running was working against us. It was definitely a bad start for us." Boston, which shot 24 per cent in the first quarter, cut the lead to 28-18 on Sullingers layup with 2:28 left in the period. However, Houston, which shot 80 per cent in the first quarter, responded by ending the quarter on a 12-0 run capped by Omri Casspis 3-pointer to lead 40-18 after one. Houston pushed the lead to 43-18 on a 3-pointer by Beverley a minute into the second quarter and Boston never got the lead below 18 the rest of the way. The Rockets led 68-44 at the half and stretched the lead to 35 at 88-53 on Howards follow shot with 4 minutes to go in the third. NOTES: Houston C Omer Asik, who has been the subject of trade rumours, played Tuesday after missing the last two games. "I was just frustrated," Asik said at Tuesday mornings shootaround about missing the previous two games. "It is behind me now. Im looking forward to help my team win." Asik would not discuss reports that he asked to be traded. ...
